CAMDEN (AP) — Authorities say a man was killed and woman was wounded when gunfire erupted on a South Jersey street.

But it's not yet clear what sparked the shooting, which occurred around 4:45 a.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of Rose Street in Camden.

Camden County authorities say police responded to the area after getting an alert through the city's gunshot detection system. They found the two shooting victims on Lansdowne Avenue, and both were taken to hospitals.

Authorities say 31-year-old Javan Boyd died about two hours after the shooting. Further details on the condition of the other victim, 28-year-old Lashana Davis, were not disclosed.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
