Man high on heroin caused deadly crash on Bergen sidewalk, cops say
Authorities say a man was under the influence of heroin when he struck and killed a 65-year-old man in an Elmwood Park Walgreens Parking lot Friday night.
Twenty-four-year-old Troy Saucer drove his Jeep Liberty onto a sidewalk and fatally struck 65-year-old Rasim Hida, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
Saucier, a Suffern, N.Y. resident, was found unresponsive and had to be revived with Narcan, police said.
Saucier has been charged with vehicular homicide and several drug charges. He's been jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail with no 10 percent cash option.
