Thirty-three-year-old Justin Falcon also faces charges of robbery, carjacking and several weapons offenses stemming from the June 16 incident in Aberdeen. He was being held Wednesday on $500,000 cash bail.

Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni says the 55-year-old driver had picked up Falcon at a convenience store in nearby Keyport and drove him to an address in Aberdeen, where a scuffle ensued. Falcon then fled in the cab, but soon returned and tried unsuccessfully to run down the driver before driving off.

The driver was hospitalized for several days, but has since recovered.
