EAST BRUNSWICK — An elderly man was killed in a crash with a commuter bus on Monday night.

Police said Steven Kahn, 75, of Kenoza Lake, New York, merged his red 2015 Nissan Rogue from the center lane into the right lane near Eggers Street and was struck by the bus.   Kahn was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

None of the passengers on the bus was hurt, including the driver, Patrice Camille, police said.

The bus was leased by Suburban Transit, according to NJ Transit.

It's the second accident in the same area of Route 18 involving a commuter bus within the past month. An Academy Bus leased from NJ Transit was rear-ended by a small school bus the morning of Jan. 16.  The accident broke the leg of a 4-year-old and four passengers were left

A call to Suburban Coach has not yet been returned.
