NJ101.5 has partnered with local animal rescue organizations EASEL Animal Rescue League and Friends of EMAS (Edison Municipal Animal Shelter) to feature adoptable local pets in need of homes. Help us find these pets homes by sharing this information with family members and friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.

Lulu is such a refined and delicate young cat, with unique calico markings on her silky, white coat. She enjoys climbing and playing in the shelter's cat recreation area and taking naps near a sunny window. Lulu loves people and if you walk past her kennel, she will meow and engage you until you stop and pet her. She really just wants someone to snuggle up with. Lulu is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations and FeLV and FIV negative.

If you're interested in meeting Lulu or fostering/adopting her, please email us at EAS@edisonnj.org. You can see more adoptable cats from Friends of EMAS here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Adopt Glen

What a story! This charmer was spotted running repeatedly in the Glen Afton section of West Trenton for about a week. The entire neighborhood was on the lookout for him, and named him Glen. Trenton Animal Control Officers had been out several times and made efforts to catch him, but he was too quick. They were finally able to catch him after he was hit by a car on Route 29. Glen was taken to a vet for a broken leg and various scrapes and bruises. The neighbors, animal control officers and vets all agreed that Glen was a wonderful, friendly dog who deserved to be saved.

Glen is now happy and safe in his foster home while he recovers. He lives with two dogs as companions and fits right in. Despite his injury, Glen is pretty quick on three legs and he even got loose in the neighborhood again before coming back! He should make a full recovery and will be looking for a new home. We think he is a Shepherd/Pit Bull mix who is about 5 years old.

Glen's fosters say that he is doing great. No problems with their dogs, no chasing the cats, super-friendly to everyone and well mannered. Glen is pretty convinced that he's a lap dog, too!

If you’re interested in learning more about Glen or to schedule a visit, email his foster mom Janet at janetsrauscher@gmail.com. Find more of EASEL’s adoptable dogs and puppies here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Blake is an affectionate young man who thoroughly enjoys contact with people. This Pit Bull mix was found as a stray dog and his owners haven't been located. Blake is wonderful on long walks and is very attentive to any direction given to him. He loves getting small treats and takes them gently. His beautiful bridle coloring makes him stand out. Blake is house-trained and would make a great exercise partner. You can check out a video of Blake here.

If you're interested in meeting Blake or fostering/adopting him, please email us at EAS@edisonnj.org. You can see more adoptable dogs from Friends of EMAS here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Jill's a classic tiger tabby with a bright white tummy and legs. The ladies at EASEL call her "a sweet little luv bug" because she loves to cuddle and be petted. She loves to play and is a real "people kittie." Jill's greatest hope is that she will soon get to go to her forever home like her brother Jack.

To schedule a visit to meet Jill, please email kitty@easelnj.org or call 609-883-0540. You can find more of EASEL’s adoptable cats and kittens here, or download a PDF copy of the application form here.
