Lowering the drinking age, change college students’ behavior

Horror story. This is every parents' nightmare when they send their kids away to school. A family will be laying to rest a 20-year-old Sacred Heart University student after she died during a pancake eating contest at her sorority-sponsored event.

What is it about our college campuses that kids push the limits of stupid and irresponsible behavior?  On the other hand there's a competitive nature of Americans where everything is a contest. My thought is that a lower drinking age will change the nature of binge behavior among teens.
