Lonegan's Democratic opponent, Cory Booker, on Friday gave reporters three hours to review 15 years of his returns.

The returns show the Newark mayor earned $472,571 last year, mainly from national speaking engagements.

Booker's campaign also announced he was stepping down from the board of an Internet startup he helped found. Booker will donate his shares of Waywire to charity. Booker's stake in the firm is worth $1 million to $5 million

Booker and Lonegan are competing for the seat left vacant by the death of Sen. Frank Lautenberg. The special election will take place on Oct. 16.
