Local NJ Democratic Chairman Admits Bribery

Michael Kazmark faces up to 15 years in prison when he's sentenced in September.

The chairman of the Woodland Park Democratic Committee admitted in court in Camden Friday that he gave more than $18,000 in 2010 to two people he thought were IRS agents. He pleaded guilty to one count of bribing a federal public official.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Kazmark failed to pay federal income tax from 1997 through 2005 and owed the government more than $98,000. Kazmark was allegedly seeking to have his tax liability put in noncollectible status for two years.
