PENNSAUKEN -- A 911 call placed by the mother of a township 2-year-old reveals the child's condition in graphic detail, but does not raise the accusation that the mother's boyfriend, who has been charged with the toddler's murder, assaulted the boy.

"Is his chest rising or falling? ... No, it's not doing anything," the mother said on the call, obtained by NJ Advance Media and others. The boyfriend, 24-year-old Zacchery Tricoche, can be heard in the background replying "no" to the mother's question.

"He has bruising on his chest," the mother went on to say, to which the dispatcher replied, "His chest is moving?"

"No, his chest is bruised, like it's turning colors," she answered, imploring police to get to the scene as quickly as possible.

Near the end of the nearly five-minute call, the dispatcher asks for Tricoche to be put on the line. The mother had previously told authorities Tricoche was trying to administer CPR to the child, but did not know how.

But Tricoche appeared to have trouble communicating with the dispatcher (who mishears his first name as "Larry"), asking "Hello?" a total of nine times in the final 90 seconds of the call.

Tricoche remains held on $1 million bail in Camden County. His argument with the mother, whose name has not been released, over groceries is what allegedly led to him asking the 2-year-old to "put up his hands" to fight.
