Lights Still Out in Sussex, Warren Counties After Strong Storms
The power has still not restored for thousands of JCP&L customers in Warren and Sussex counties, a day after thunderstorms rolled through taking down a number of trees and power lines.
CP&L's outage map showed 3,700 still in the dark in Sussex County and 4,379 in Warren County at 1:30 p.m. Another 1,600 are out in Morris County. Sparta, Liberty, Independence and Jefferson are especially hard hit but should all have power restored by 7 p.m.
Final repairs should be complete by noon on Saturday for some isolated customers according to a statement on the JCP&L website. The company says 40,000 were without power on Thursday night.
Several strong cells moved through the area yesterday with winds gusted to 50-60 MPH
