Leah, Thor, Maylee, Shadow and Leo Need Forever Homes [NJ Pets of the Week]
Help us find these pets homes by sharing this information with family members and friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.
At just 8-months-old, Leah has been in the shelter for far too long. Diagnosed with an eye infection when she was just a baby, Leah doesn’t see very well and is easily scared by unexpected sounds and touches. This long-haired beauty needs a quiet home with a patient caregiver who can help her feel safe. Can you provide Leah with the comfort and peace she so desperately needs and deserves?

Thor is a friendly, happy American Staffordshire terrier mix who loves to lean on people and be in their laps. He was wandering for about five days before someone caught him. He has adjusted very well at the shelter after being a little distant, and is now happy to meet new people. Thor is stocky and powerful, so he needs to learn how to walk on a leash and do basic tricks.
Maylee was rescued from a high kill shelter in the South. When she arrived in New Jersey, she quickly got the nickname “Snowball” by her foster family because she loves to play in the snow. This beautiful Labrador Retriever mix is about 4-years-old, housebroken and crate trained. Since she needs to lose a few pounds, we’ve been giving her healthy treats, like baby carrots. She currently lives with three other dogs and gets along with all of them. In addition to the snow, she also loves music, especially the song “Sing” by The Carpenters. Whenever you play it for her, she wags her tail like crazy. This sweet, quiet girl would do great in a home with a fenced-in yard and older kids. She is spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

Shadow is an American Staffordshire terrier mix and was surrendered with his buddy Cocoa. He’s a big bundle of love. He can go for walks or just lounge around outside with people, soaking up attention the whole time.

Leo is a very loving and cuddly guy. He’s very good with other cats and has become quite popular in the shelter with them since he’s always looking after them. Leo is super friendly and personable, always greeting his friends and potential adopters.
