Triumph was a hard rock trio from Canada who debuted their first release, 'Hold On,' in the Top 40 in 1979. Their biggest hit was their final song to chart, 'Somebody’s Out There,' which hit #27. The song I requested is the song I most associate with Triumph. It is a song that wasn’t a huge pop hit, but got extensive airplay on AOR (Album Oriented Rock) radio stations across the country, and for many people it is their most recognizable tune: 'Lay It On The Line.' Now as far as the pop charts go, 'Lay It On The Line' didn't do all that great, peaking at #86, but for classic rock radio stations, it is the band’s most played song.
