A jury has been chosen for the New Jersey trial of a former Rutgers student accused of using a webcam to spy on his roommate's intimate encounter with another man.

Jury selection was completed Thursday for the trial of 19-year-old Dharun Ravi. He faces charges of
invasion of privacy, bias intimidation and other charges.

The case sparked a national conversation about bullying faced by young gays after Ravi's roommate, Tyler Clementi, committed suicide in September 2010 by jumping off the George Washington Bridge.

It took four days to select the jurors from an initial pool of 2,000. Four of those picked will be alternates.

Opening arguments are expected Friday.
