It's winter time, there's snow on the ground and one of the great joys of being a kid is going out and playing in the snow. Lawmakers are doing their best to make it less fun for kids with a new trend that will leave you shaking your head.

Towns across America Banning Sledding

One of the greatest joys you can have is sledding down a hill. If you can believe it, towns across the country are attempting to ban it because of, what else? Lawyers of course!

According to this report by ABC News, cities are banning kids from sledding for fears of lawsuits. Heaven forbid we let our children have any fun, right? Rest easy folks, your kids may not be able to have any fun in the snow but our towns are free from anything "possibly" happening, such as a lawsuit or (gasp!) a liability!

The article references a great quote that Jim has mentioned a few times on the show. The quote is from H.L. Mencken who once described a Puritan as someone who lives with “the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy.” We are seeing that quote come to life, right in front of our very eyes.

The scary part is, if we let this keep happening, our kids will have nothing left but to stay indoors, play their X-Box and never know what the great outdoors and making your own fun outside is like.

Are we being just too overly-cautious with our kids? Take the poll below.
