We would first like to pay homage to Union Beach Firefighter Robert Meyer who died in a blaze this past Sunday. He will be remembered at a service on Friday night at the Shore Point Funeral Home on Route 35 in Hazlet from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. His funeral will be held on Saturday morning starting at 8 a.m. with a funeral procession that will start at the Union Hose firehouse. And Gov. Chris Christie has ordered flags at the Statehouse to fly at half-staff from Friday until June 19 in Meyer’s honor.
