Police are looking for two men they say robbed man in the area of Rutgers-Newark earlier this month.

On the evening of Dec. 9, while a man was walking toward University Avenue on Central Avenue, he was approached by two makes who demanded he stop and asked to see his cell phone, State Police said.

When the man said he didn't have a phone, the two told him to stand still, and said he'd be hurt if he didn't listen, State Police said. They went through his pockets, and after finding his phone, fled on foot down Central Avenue toward Washington Street, police say.

The first is described as a black male between the ages of 18 and 23, approximately 5'6" to 5'8", with a medium build, weighing approximately 130 to 150 pounds. He has brown eyes, with a slight beard and short black hair, police say.

The second is described as a black male between the ages of 20 and 25, approximately 5'8" to 5'10", with a medium build, weighing approximately 150 to 170 pounds. He has brown eyes and short black hair police say.
