Atlantic City authorities say the body of a juvenile that washed ashore in nearby Margate has been identified as that of a 10-year-old Philadelphia boy who vanished in the ocean last weekend.

Khitan Devine had disappeared Sunday night while swimming with his family near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Atlantic City. Lifeguards were off duty at the time, and authorities say the swimmers got caught in a rip current.

Devine's sister was rescued by the Atlantic City Beach Patrol, which found her holding on to a jetty.

Authorities tell The Press of Atlantic City that Khitan Devine's body was found late Wednesday morning by lifeguards who spotted it in the water, just a few yards from shore.
