MONROE (Gloucester) — When the cashier at a local pizza place refused to give an armed robber any dough, police say the man just gave up and left.

The incident happened on the night of Sept. 4 when the man, later identified by police as Christopher Tworzydlo, entered the Papa John's in Williamstown.

Tworzydlo, according to police, was attempting to conceal his identity when he tried demanding money from a sales clerk. When he was first denied, police say he showed the clerk a gun, but was denied three more times.

After the third time, police say he gave up and left the store before being arrested after a joint investigation in conjunction with the Haddonfield and Gloucester Township police departments. Also arrested was Joseph N. Murray.

Tworzydlo was charged with robbery, possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and criminal attempt. Murray was charged with robbery, possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and conspiracy. Both men were taken to the Salem County Correctional Facility pending a first hearing.

New Jersey 101.5 did not know Wednesday whether either had an attorney who could speak on their behalf.
