If you move into a condo complex, there are gonna be rules. If that condo complex is filled with mostly Orthodox Jews, the rules are gonna be ... well ... strange.

Modesty laws of Orthodox Judaism prohibit men and women swimming together. So in the case of Lakewood's "A Country Place" community, where most of the hundreds of units are occupied by Orthodox Jews, non-Jewish resident got fined $50 for breaking the rule.

The condo complex has limited non-segregated swimming to just two hours a day Sunday through Friday. On Saturday, the Jewish Sabbath, no such restrictions are in place.

Is this legal? Can it be enforced? Yes. And yes. Here's my take on this unusual situation, and what this means for condo residents in general.
