Judi Franco: ‘The Presidential Medal of Freedom is an embarrassment’

The Presidential Medal of Freedom. The highest civilian honor, presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.

This is an embarrassment.

We know what Springsteen does to "deserve" this honor. But what did some of the others do? Diana Ross? Michael Jordan? Very accomplished, but especially meritorious things that make the world better??

Ellen de Generes made history when her character revealed she was a lesbian. As far as I know, all Lorne Michaels ever did was produce television shows and movies. With a left-wing bent. Could that be what unifies all the esteemed names on this list?
