NJ bullying "Law" (snicker) describes bullying as mistreatment based on race, gender or a distinguishing characteristic. The conduct also has to substantially disrupt or interfere with the orderly operations of a school. Does calling someone a "know it all" for those criteria?

Time to throw out all of the anti-bullying laws and start from scratch. It's the second time this week that someone is trying to make name-calling bullying. This was a 7th grader, presumably a 12 year old, and this time in Readington.

The father who tried to prove bullying in this case lost his battle. But he's lost much more; the opportunity to teach his kid the old "sticks and stones" adage, the opportunity to build character in his kid, the opportunity to turn a negative into a positive.

Instead, he shows him that whining wins, small slights should destroy you, revenge is good, and that someone else can control your feelings about yourself. Hey, psychotherapists! Look this kid up!

In a couple years he'll be whining on your couch about how the world owes him everything. And you can laugh all the way to the bank.
