It looks like Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora could not patch up their differences.

The Sayreville native told Showbiz 911 that Woodbridge's Sambora is not returning to Bon Jovi any time soon despite earlier hopeful comments from Jon and guitarist Richie.

“He quit. He’s gone. No hard feelings. Being in a band isn’t a life sentence," said Jon as he attended the debut of the upcoming movie "Rosewater," directed by another New Jersey native, Jon Stewart.

Rumors of the two fighting over money have persisted for months but neither side has   offered details of why Sambora left the band during a stop in Calgary during the "Beacause We Can" tour in 2013.

One rumored reason was Jon's attempt to save money in order to become an NFL owner. He was part of a group that wanted to buy the Buffalo Bills but the effort failed, in part over suspicions the Toronto-based group would to move the team to Canada.

Bon Jovi said the failed acquisition --not Sambora's departure-- left him in a deep depression for a time.
