Geno Smith got the wrong kind of break at a Jets practice.

The quarterback was sucker-punched in the face by teammate Ikemefuna Enemkpali, according to coach Todd Bowles. Smith will be out six to 10 weeks to have surgery for a broken jaw.

Enemkpali has been released by the team. Ryan Fitzpatrick is expected to be the Jets starter.

Bowles told his players that Smith and Enemkpali got into an altercation in the locker room over something "childish," but would not get into details.

"You can't tolerate that," Bowles told NFL.com. "When you have a team and a bunch of side issues you can't tolerate that. It's something that happened in the locker room and we're dealing with it internally and that's what we'll do."

On his Instragram, Smith posted a stern looking picture of himself and the message, "I'LL BE BACK."
