Pace, who spent the past five seasons in New York, was cut in February in a cost-cutting move. He could end up starting again this season, along with free-agent signing Antwan Barnes, although the Jets could still target a pass-rushing linebacker such as LSU's Barkevious Mingo with one of their two first-round draft picks.

Pace, a 2003 first-round pick by Arizona, spent his first five seasons with the Cardinals before signing a six-year deal with the Jets in 2008. The 32-year-old Pace has 42 career sacks, but struggled with various injuries and his role changing at times, limiting him to 13 sacks -- including just three last season -- in the past three years.
