Jets’ Defensive Lineman Po’uha Could Miss Rest of Preseason

New York Jets nose tackle Sione Po'uha says he expects he could miss the rest of the preseason with a stiff back, but is confident he will play in the regular-season opener against Buffalo on Sept. 9.

Wide receiver Santonio Holmes was receiving treatment on a tight back during practice Wednesday after being sidelined since Aug. 4 with a rib injury. Coach Rex Ryan says "it's possible" Holmes could also miss the rest of the preseason, "but I don't think that will be the case."

Po'uha has not practiced since Aug. 1, when he needed about six stitches to close a cut on his forehead. His back started acting up on him after that, and went to New York to have an MRI exam that revealed no damage.
