As loved ones of those killed in Sunday's massacre at a Florida nightclub try to find ways to get to and from Orlando, Jet Blue airline has said it provide free flights to immediate family members and domestic partners of the victims.

In a statement on its website Monday, the airline said employees "continue to watch reports of the Orlando nightclub shooting with great sadness." Many of Jet Blue's crew members either live in Orlando or travel to and from the city.

"This weekend’s events are felt by all of our 19,000 crewmembers, many of whom live in, work from and travel through Orlando – one of our focus cities – at Orlando International Airport, our Orlando Support Center and JetBlue University," Jet Blue said in an online statement. "We want to do our part to help the victims of this tragedy, as well as support the Orlando community through this difficult time."

In addition to making a charitable contribution to support the families of those who were killed when gunman Omar Mateen opened fire inside a gay nightclub just after 2 a.m. Sunday, killing 49 people, JetBlue is also helping loved ones with travel arrangements.

JetBlue will provide free seats on available flights to/from Orlando for immediate family and domestic partners of victims who were either killed or injured in the incident.

The airline also said on its website that a fee waiver is in place for customers traveling to or from Orlando who may need to make last-minute changes to their travel plans as a result of the shooting.

In addition, the airline will have resources in place for employees who were impacted.

"For JetBlue crewmembers impacted by this event, we have activated resources to assist and are offering a donation program. Crewmembers can visit our internal website, hellojetblue, or talk to their crewleader for more details," the airline's statement reads.

Family members and domestic partners of the victims that require travel assistance should call 1-800-JETBLUE for details.
