East Brunswick's Jax wowed the judges on "American Idol" and is looking for fans' support to stay in contention on the show.

The women in the show's top 24 performed on Thursday night's show at the Filmore Detroit with Jackie Cole Miskanic letting loose with Cher's “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) and playfully shaking her blond hair in the face of the house band's guitar player.

For all the confidence during her performance, Jax became anxious as the judges heaped praise upon her in their assessment of her performance. "I loved it," said Keith Urban as he praised her "originality" while Jennifer Lopez agreed, saying that the show was "lucky to have her in the competition." Harry Connick Jr. rounded out the compliments saying she will be "fun to watch" if she makes it through. "Oh my God, oh my God, this is crazy, they liked it," she excitedly said off stage as host Ryan Seacrest gave out her voting information.

Texting and vote via telephone closed two hours after the show ended.

In a tweet Jax says she showed support for her fellow contestants by voting for every one of them. They're by far the most talented people I know," tweeted Jax. "They deserve all the love in the world. Thank you @AmericanIdol for giving me the chance to learn from these stellar artists."

The results will be announced on Wednesday and Thursday when a total of 12 contestants will be sent home cutting the top 24 in half.  Aretha Franklin will return to"Idol" for the first time since 2013 according to the Detroit News.

The show will then return to Los Angeles with live episodes on March 11.
