Lets face it...our Jersey roads are in pretty bad shape...from torn up spots...to the dreaded, and ever-present, POT HOLES!

And, every time I see them on one of my walks (especially one cone by itself)...

Those of you who are "small batch" or "craft beer" aficionados may know that the Point Brewery (like our friends at River Horse Brewery in Ewing) is in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.  And, as you can see, the "conehead" was a part of Point's marketing plan.

BRILLIANT, in my honest opinion...and let me explain why.

I realize that some of you  who follow my posts may have no idea what, or who, the Coneheads were/are...although the recent 40th Anniversary of "Saturday Night Live," with all the specials, and the episode by episode marathon (not to mention dvd box sets)...may have filled in the blanks.

In short, the "Coneheads" are space aliens. When asked, they are "from France," and they "consume mass quantities"...of beer.

Can you see why a conehead would be a good "mascot" for a brewery?

And, before I feel the need to delve deeper into the late-1970's conehead "phenomenon"...all of a sudden, pop culture proves once more, that "everything old is new again:"

The original coneheads (Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtin and Lorraine Newman) are back...this time SAVING "mass quantities."

Brilliant!

And, welcome back, Conehead family!

Coneheads...meet...Cones!
