Concerned citizens in East Orange rallied for justice in the Trayvon Martin case the other day.

Yesterday another one took place on The Green in Morristown.

Still another one had been scheduled for this afternoon by the Centenary College chapter of the NAACP at the Quad sundial. (As of this writing, it’s raining outside, so I assume they’ll be holding it in an adjacent church.)

And not to be outdone, there’s yet another set in Jersey City led by the Rev. Herbert Daughtry, civil rights activist, to take place tomorrow night. Participants will meet at 5 p.m. at the church on Martin Luther King Drive.

The goal of all is to stand in solidarity with the family of Trayvon Martin, a black, 17-year-old who was shot and killed on Feb. 26 as he walked to his father’s home from a convenience store in Sanford, Fla.

Without belaboring to summarize all the information surrounding the case, I wonder if you will you be attending any of these rallies with, I’m sure, more to follow.
