Singer Kym D, a Jersey girl who came to the studio a few weeks ago and performed the national anthem, had a video release party for her new "Singing my Song" Saturday at Cedar Gardens in Hamilton. The red carpet event was only anticipated to have approximately 250 people in attendance, so it came as quite a shock when over 500 people showed up.

The video was written, produced and filmed by the staff of the hit TV show "Blue Bloods." Tara Boccia and the rest of the Blue Bloods staff were in attendance for the release. Each member of the Blue Bloods staff volunteered their time on this project. The song and video are about Kym's life and how she survived after being sexually abused and how she overcame obstacles in her life.

First on stage was Margie Martino of DieM with Russ Ferrante. DieM is a group out of South Philly, that features Margie on vocals and Russ with the music production. Margie wowed the crowd with her sultry soulful voice.

Music in between acts was provided by DJ Mike Xtacy and DJ Russ Ferrante. Mike Mumola and John Rossi hosted the event, and all red carpet interviews were conducted by Jasmine Rodriguez.

Kym D took the stage and performed an acoustic set with Mike Thompson on bass guitar and Johnny Knight on guitar. She also sang with Best Of Both Worlds Entertainment out of Princeton. Prior to her video debut, she acknowledged a few people in thanks of their support through her difficult times including Susan Meyers Victim Witness Advocacy of Mercer County, Alexandra Lawrence - her therapist, and Sophie Witkowski - her mother-in-law.

Kym also introduced the Blue Bloods staff to the crowd, thanking them for volunteering their time and creativity. She then debuted her video.

The story and message were very clear to the viewers. Many were brought to tears by the finale of it. While being interviewed on the red carpet after the end of the event, Kym was asked how she thought the night went.

"Someday I wished upon a star and walked out on stage, tonight...my wish came true," she said.
