JERSEY CITY — The suspect in a crash that killed two teenagers surrendered to law enforcement on Friday.

Rashaun Bell, 20, of Jersey City, turned himself in to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office for the death of Jersey City teens Elionel Jimenez, 15, and Alexander Rosas,16. Prosecutors said he was the driver of a Nissan Maxima that struck both boys in the area of Terrace Avenue and Leonard Street. Jimenez was pronounced dead at the scene while Rosas died the next day at Jersey City Medical Center.

Charges were filed against a passenger in the car, Denasia Felder, 20, for hindering. Hudson County Prosecutor Esthee Suarez said there were two other people in the gold colored car.

A warrant was issued for Bell's arrest on Thursday after Rosas passed away.

Bell struck Jiminez and Rosas, students at Dickinson High School, as they were bike riding. Bell stopped the car a short distance away and all the occupants ran off on foot. Two of the passengers later returned to the scene and were treated for minor injuries.

Suarez expected additional charges as the investigation continues.

A GoFundMe page was created for Jimenez, which remembers the teen as a "kind and good natured student who always did his best and wanted to succeed."

Suarez asked for anyone who with information about the incident to call her office at 201-915-1345.
