Jersey's favorite American Idol star joined us in studio this morning to talk about freaking people out at Fright Fest, her song Dolla Dum, and supporting our military.

If you were at Six Flags Great Adventure over the weekend, you might've been scared by a zombie clown. Well, it turns out one of those creepers was Jax after she received a special Halloween makeover from the theme park's crew.

Fierce as she may have appeared, Jax broke character to show sympathy to scared kids by giving them hugs, and to let a few "disrespectful little boys" know that they were acting out of line by yelling mean comments.

When she's not involved in holiday hijinks, the singer/songwriter is drawing inspiration from unexpected sources.

"This was inspired by my washing machine," she said in reference to her song Dolla Dum. The repetitive sound of the broken washer at her house gave her the idea for the hit, which you can listen to below.

In honor of Townsquare Cares, Jax also shared how she feels about her brother joining the Marines. As you'll hear in the clip below, there's a mix of concern, support and pride for those with family members in the military.
