MERCER COUNTY


At 6 pm, luminaries will be placed at the Princeton Battle Monument and British Army Historian William P. Tatum III, Ph.D., will explain the background story of the Princeton Battle Monument on Stockton Street, just north of Morven. The Beaux Arts style monument is one of the few of its kind in the United States. Completed in 1922 and dedicated by President Warren G. Harding, the monument's story provides colorful insights into the long history of battle commemoration in the town. Tatum will conclude his presentation with a blow-by-blow account of those portions of the battle that took place within walking distance of the monument, providing a sneak peak for Sunday morning's Real Time Walking Tour of Princeton Battlefield.

Come out for the 55th Annual Reenactment of the Colonel Hand March. The reenactors in Lawrence Township will march to delay British troops from moving toward Princeton. Starts at 10 am.

Commemorate the 240th anniversary of the Ten Crucial Days Campaign with us! Reenactors from around the country are participating in an unique, multi-layered, multi-location event in Trenton and Princeton January 7th and 8th. On the 7th while reenactors in Trenton interpret the daily lives of soldiers and civilians at the Old Barracks, reenactors in Princeton at Morven Museum and at Princeton Battlefield State Park will interpret the British Army's occupation of New Jersey. The events will come together on the morning of January 8th when Continental reenactors arrive at Princeton Battlefield marching all night from Trenton to participate in the real-time tour of the Battle of Princeton. This promises to be a great experience for both reenactors and the public. Whether you want to join us in Palmer Square, at the Old Barracks, Morven house, Princeton Battlefield or you want to say hello to us as we march from Trenton to Princeton on the night of the 7-8th.

Liudmyla Monastyrska sings the tour-de-force role of Abigaille, Nabucco's willful daughter, with Jamie Barton as Fenena, Russell Thomas as Ismaele, and Dmitri Belosselskiy as the prophet Zaccaria, the role of his 2011 Met debut.

Founded in 1953, the Garden State Model Railway Club has been in North Haledon since 1957. We open our doors to the public in the winter and spring. The Model Railroad Show runs from 1 - 5 pm all days, and features a 1200 square foot HO layout, steam and diesel locomotives, Thomas and Friends, numerous freight and passenger trains, rural and urban scenes, and working signals.
