Jackson School Bus Crash Probed

Jackson students headed home on a township school bus are shaken but unhurt after a crash involving a sport-utility vehicle this afternoon.

A source inside the district tells us that it happened just before 3 PM on Diamond Road. Neither the students nor the bus driver were hurt, but that the SUV driver sustained serious injuries.

District spokesperson Alison Erwin says that most of the children in grades 6 through 8 from Carl W. Goetz Middle School were retrieved by their parents, but a handful were delivered by a second bus.

Early reports indicate that the SUV collided with the rear of the bus and that the driver needed extrication.
