It was 40 years ago this week that one Beatle knocked another Beatle off the top of the charts.  If you had to take a guess, from a time when all 4 fabs were recording and releasing hits, who would you choose?

How about George Harrison’s “Give Me Love” (Give Me Peace on Earth) knocking off Sir Paul’s “My Love”  The song from Harrison’s “Living in the Material World” became the quiet Beatles second number 1 hit after My Sweet Lord in 1971.

My Love is a staple in the Paul McCartney constantly covers as he continues his world tour. It’s hard to believe that much time has passed since these songs have come out. Sir Paul now 71 is promoting the re-release of his “Wings Over America” CD and Rock Show DVD. When I listen to the work of the solo Beatles, especially that of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, I’m reminded of how much they needed each other. Having said that, let’s not forget that some of the greatest songs ever came from their individual work.

What’s your all-time favorite solo Beatles record?
