It appears there is little common ground left between Gov. Chris Christie and his top Democratic ally in the legislature.

For six years, Christie has worked well with Senate President Steve Sweeney.

The two often tout a an open-door policy. While Sweeney tells us that still exists, when Christie is here, the two do not seem to be able to broker the same type of bi-partisan deals they have in the past.

That includes the lack of a deal to replenish the Transportation Trust Fund.
