Is Justin Bieber Performing In Newark?
Depending on who you listen to, Justin Bieber is performing in Newark on Sunday, October 28. Or he’ll be sevreal thousand miles away in the midwest.
“Bieber will perform at the special one-day event at the Bears’ ballpark on Sunday, October 28,” reads the post. “The doors will open at 4 p.m., with activities and contests, followed by Bieber’s live acoustic performance highlighting the Halloween-themed party. At 8:30 p.m., Bieber will host a private meet-and-greet session exclusively for the team’s season ticket holders, partners and sponsors.”
However, Bieber’s longtime publicist Melissa Victor tells the Star Ledger that the show announcement is “pure fiction.” According to the concert tour website Pollstar, Bieber performs in St. Louis on Saturday, October 27 and in Dallas on Monday, October 29. He is off on the 28th.
Bears owner Danielle Dronet, however, insists the show is happening. “We did this through the right channels,” she said. “We are protected. If it ends up being an ugly situation, we are prepared for that.”
Dronet says the show was arranged by Rene Lujan, who, according to his LinkedIn profile, is vice president of operations at SkyIsland Productions and owner of Luna Bay Productions. He told the Star Ledger that the concert is “100 percent on. This is not a hoax.” He blamed the Columbus Day holiday for delaying contracts.
