There’s an interesting survey out this week. In it, three quarters of the Americans asked had no problem with the female in the relationship doing the proposing. So is the female proposal becoming more popular? Apparently not. According to the Associated Press, only five percent of current American marriages featured the female proposal.

In what might be the most surprising stat, younger couples look less favorably on the woman proposing; only a little less than 66% of those under thirty approve. With all the changes to marriage like people living together first and waiting to get married, it is somewhat surprising that this piece of traditionalism remains.
