NJ101.5 has partnered with local animal rescue organizations EASEL Animal Rescue League and Friends of EMAS (Edison Municipal Animal Shelter) to feature adoptable local pets in need of homes. Help us find these pets homes by sharing this information with family members and friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.

Adopt Iris

Iris came to the Edison Municipal Animal Shelter as a young mama cat with a litter of three kittens. She was a good mother and all of her kittens have been placed in loving homes. Now it is her turn to go home. Iris likes to play and has very expressive eyes. She is as pretty and delicate as a spring flower, just like her name. She has an easy going personality and just wants a family to call her own. She's spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations and she is FIV/FeLV negative. Iris is currently at our PetSmart Adoption Center on Rt. 27, next to Costco. She is waiting to meet you!

If you're interested in meeting Iris or fostering/adopting her, please email us at EAS@edisonnj.org. You can see more adoptable cats from Friends of EMAS here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Adopt Lennox

Lennox (Photo courtesy of EASEL)

Lennox is a friendly Pit Bull mix who is good with other dogs, cats and kids. His owner had to bring him to the Ewing Animal Shelter after moving to a new home that does not allow dogs. Lennox is high energy, so it might take him some time to adjust to being in a home. He does not like being at the shelter and is becoming high-strung. Lennox does great when he is at adoption events and away from the shelter.

If you’re interested in learning more about Lennox or to schedule a visit, email dogs@easelnj.org. Find more of EASEL’s adoptable dogs and puppies here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Adopt Dewey

Dewey, a Pit Bull mix, is approximately a year-old and makes for an ideal pet. He is extremely affectionate, gentle and great with people and other dogs. Dewey is currently being fostered and is great buddies with his foster parents' 1-year-old grandson. Dewey loves to cuddle and play fetch. His antics and adorable facial expressions provide many laughs. As an added bonus, Dewey does not shed! This wonderful animal deserves a loving, forever home.

If you're interested in meeting Dewey or fostering/adopting him, please email us at EAS@edisonnj.org. You can see more adoptable dogs from Friends of EMAS here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.
