Trains will be single tracked for the rest of the evening after Amtrak train #97, known as the Silver Meteor on its way to Miami, got stuck inside the tunnel when the lead wheels of the train's locomotive came off the rails. The locomotive never came off the wheels and none of the 158 passengers were injured.

The train originated in New York.

As a precaution the railroad had killed the power to the stuck train. Passengers have since been taken to Baltimore's Penn Station.
