It was 32 years ago today. The world was brought to its knees when we lost John Lennon.

As much as it seems like only yesterday to me, it’s hard to believe a generation has gone by.  Even so, this week will be highlighted by Paul McCartney performing at Madison Square Garden and the Rolling Stones at the Prudential Center. I can’t help but think if he were alive, there would have been a Lennon citing at one or both of these shows, perhaps recreating the moment he appeared on stage at the Garden in 1974 with Elton John.   I also know that even though he’s not there, his presence will be felt.

If you’re a fan, take a moment today to feel his presence and remember his influence. One of my greatest joys is passing that influence down to my 6 ear old boys Albert and Lennon.  What was your favorite Lennon song or lyric, mine changes almost daily. Here’s todays…

“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”
