I need glasses to read, but I only need one eye corrected. I usually buy a $13 pair of readers at a discount store and hammer out the left lens. I have joked on the air about getting a monocle and, according to Philly.com, it would be pretty easy.

There’s a man in West Chester, PA who also needed a monocle back in 2000 so he started an online company that only makes monocles. The company is called Nearsights and they say that revenue has tripled over the past several years. The only drawback is their expense; monocles range from around $50 to $125 on their website.

I guess I’ll keeping buying cheap glasses and removing one lens for now, but some day I’ll get my monocle.
