Husband Of ‘Melrose Place’ Actress Charged

Authorities say the husband of a former "Melrose Place" actress drove across a lawn and hit a mailbox hours after she was sentenced in a New Jersey court for vehicular homicide.

Hopewell Township police have charged 41-year-old Mark Bovenizer with leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage, failure to report an accident, and failure to maintain lane.

The Courier News reports he and his lawyer declined comment.

The crash happened near his parent's home after a judge last month sentenced his wife, Amy Locane-Bovenizer, to three years in prison. She was drunk when her SUV plowed into a car, killing a woman in 2010.

Prosecutors are appealing the sentence, saying it was too lenient.

Locane-Bovenizer appeared in 13 episodes of TV's "Melrose Place."
