Well here's something I only recently discovered. UrbanDictionary.com isn't only your go-to source when you need a definition of what 'on fleek' or 'bae' means. They're apparently also the "experts" on sizing up cities in New Jersey often with some venom.

Here are a few examples of how UrbanDictionary bashes Jersey towns. I'd like to point out that in no way do I share the negative opinions found here and in fact the very reason I'm posting this is to expose how ridiculous this Jersey bashing is.

Toms River
"Suburban area where nothing exciting happens. Most importantly, the coolest kids in the world live here. Best known for the Little League Championship winners. Also, everyone here claims that they knew Piper Perabo because this is her hometown. During the summer, Seaside Hts. is overrun with tourists and occasionally MTV for some strange reason. People are being "Made" left and right. We have the worst mall in the world. Kids skip school to go to the beach.
Hey, let's go to the Poland Springs Arena to see Bill Cosby."

"Cool Beans or Applebees after the movie?"

Newark
"Largest city in New Jersey. Not as sh!##y as everyone thinks it is. Many of the people need to control their guns though. Downtown as a lot a buildings and soon will have the new Newark Arena for the Devils NHL Team. Newark has four colleges. NJIT, Rutgers, Essex County College, and UMDNJ. Also has one of the busiest airports in the world, and its own little subway system."
1: "Will i get shot in Newark?"
2: "Maybe..if ur an idiot and walk around the neighborhoods at night"
1: "Oh true"

Jersey City
"A large city in northeastern New Jersey (Hudson County). Some view it as a slum, others view it as an average large urban area teeming with urban people. There are different districts: the Heights, Downtown, Journal Square, Westside, Greenville area, etc. Also known as Chilltown, JC, 201, Dirty Jersey, etc. One of the most diverse cities in the United States. Somewhat rough and coarse with words and actions, but the residents do not notice due to its frequency. And yes, it would be best to do what the Romans do when in Rome."
1: "Where are you from?"
2: "Jersey City."
1: "Tsk. Heard about that place."

Atlantic City
"An urban community located along the southern Jersey Shore in Atlantic County, New Jersey. It is most famous for being the home of the Miss America contest, as well as many large casino-hotels. Sometimes referred to as America's Playground and Newark with a beach. See also Borgata Babe.
If you're smart, you won't leave the casinos in Atlantic City after dark. The streets can get scary there!"

Union City
"Union City is a congested, gritty, industrial small city in North Jersey. It has a lot of New York City influence since it is just less than five minutes away from Manhattan. Union City is rather impoverished but it has always been a destination for immigrants. It is the Little Havana of New Jersey, better the Hispanic capital of the state. The Hispanic population is very diversified with Cubans on the top. It features Bergenline Avenue, the chief commercial thoroughfare and a gateway to Latin America. UC is sometimes crime ridden but other than that it's ok.
Whenever I want Cuban cigars, authentic Cuban, Ecuadorian or Colombian food, or just want to chill in a cool town I just head up to Union City."

"Viva Union City!"

And then there's this, perhaps the nastiest of all...

Seaside Heights
"Shore town in south/central New Jersey. Often called "Sleazeside". Full of guidoes, Jersey Girls and Bennies during the summer, but deserted in the winter. People who live within in the surrounding towns go to the beaches here and certainly do NOT under any circumstances call it "going to the shore" or "down the shore."

"Its main attraction is the boardwalk where there are a number of trashy bars, trashy clothing stores, arcades, and body piercing stands. There are at least 5 different stores specializing in marijuana paraphenelia, like bongs vaporizers and glass bowls. It is full of bright neon lights and stands that sell expensive and greasy (but good) food. As a result it is a popular place for not only tourists, but stoned young people from surrounding areas."

"During the winter the town is nearly dead. The only people who stay are the sketchy homeless and/or drug addicted men who roam the boardwalk and the locals."

"Although most businesses are closed, certain bars, pizzarias, and arcades remain open all year. You can also see surfers in the water all year round when the waves are good, even if there's snow on the ground. On a good day, the streets are lined with their cars."

"The cops in Seaside are fascist @$$holes. And there are ARMIES of them. They're notorious for being young and inexperienced, eager to prove themselves in order to get hired by less sh!$$y towns."
"lets get stoned and go to the boardwalk"
"pt pleasant or seaside heights?"
