How Far Along Is NJ’s Sandy Recovery?

You can ask people from all across the Garden State how they think the Superstorm Sandy recovery and rebuilding efforts are going. Chances are you’ll get a lot of different answers.

For some, things are almost back to normal. For others, their lives are nowhere near where they were pre-Sandy. There’s another cadre of residents who might have no opinion because they were lucky enough not suffer any damage from the storm.

Tomorrow, U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and Congressman Frank Pallone (D-NJ) will give their thoughts on the topic. The federal lawmakers will be at the Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority (BRSA) to provide an update.

At the event, Menendez and Pallone will talk about what has been accomplished in the Sandy recovery process, and what work needs to be done. In fact, they’re calling the event, “What Has Been Done and What Still Needs to Be Done.”

Alongside Menendez and Pallone will be a homeowner who spent money out of pocket to rebuild his home with the expectation that he would be reimbursed, but was later told that he would not be eligible for the grant to cover his expenses.

The event will take place tomorrow afternoon at 12:45pm at the BSRA, 100 Oak Street, Union Beach, NJ.
