How did dog end up dead in Jersey Shore inlet?

The Monmouth County SPCA is helping to identify a dog found Friday floating in the water in Avon-by-the-Sea.

Monmouth County SPCA Executive Director Ross Licitra said black German shepherd was pulled from the Shark River Inlet near the Coast Guard Station around 11:30 a.m. The dog is described as young male with a small tuff of white fur on its chest.
