House Hopefuls Fundraising Well Against Incumbents
Two Democrats running for Congress in New Jersey are giving their incumbent Republican opponents a run for their money.
Cherry Hill Democrat Shelley Adler has raised $223,088 and spent $34,429 from mid-May to the end of June in the 3rd Congressional District,
Her opponent, Rep. Jon Runyan, raised $226,479 and spent $80,020 during that period.
Adler had $492,846 on hand at the end of the period compared to nearly $903,000 for Runyan.
Somerset Democratic Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula has raised $394,630 and spent $42,842 in the 7th Congressional District,
Republican Rep. Leonard Lance raised $150,135 and spent $165,481.
Chivukula had $434,419 on hand compared to $385,251 for Lance.
The election is Nov. 6.
