Hot air balloon makes controlled landing, no injuries
HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP (AP) — Authorities say the operator of a hot air balloon made a controlled landing without incident in Mercer County after encountering high winds.
Hopewell Township police say the incident occurred shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Authorities initially were told that the balloon had crashed on the campus of Bristol-Myers Squibb. But responding officers soon learned it had landed softly in an upright position.
Authorities say there was no fire and no injuries were reported, noting that the landing was done as a precaution. It was not immediately clear if anyone besides the operator was in the balloon at the time.
