Thank goodness this is a U.K. Story and not a U.S. Story, but horse meat has reappeared on grocery store shelves in England. It was not labelled as horse meat but rather as "beef". It has been quite a while since the horse meat scandal was in the news and I thought it had gone away, but routine testing revealed the presence of horse meat; since it was not listed on the can as an ingredient, they all were recalled.

And, yes, it was canned beef that contained the mystery meat. In some parts of Europe horse is sold at butcher shops and markets with no restrictions, so people must like it, just not in England. I've rarely strayed outside the cattle, pig, chicken, turkey, and lamb circle of meats, although I did have an antelope steak at the Scanticon in Princeton once. Would you try horse if it were legal to eat?
