Horrific Car Accident in Newark Leaves 1 Dead

A crash involving a truck and a minivan near Newark's downtown has left one person dead, two injured and a horrific accident scene.

The Star-Ledger reports that a plumbing truck apparently barreled into a minivan, shearing it in half. The Essex County Prosecutor's office says a passenger in the minivan was killed and the drivers of both vehicles are being treated at a Newark hospital.

The newspaper reports that the intersection was strewn with body parts, which rescue workers covered in white sheets.
